Marco is a software engineer at Crunchy Data, where he leads the development of Crunchy Data Warehouse, a modern PostgreSQL OLAP store built using a constellation of extensions. He spent much of the past decade working on Citus—distributed PostgreSQL as an extension— at Citus Data and Microsoft, and on products built around it. He co-created over a dozen PostgreSQL extensions, including pg_cron. Before Citus, Marco helped create Amazon CloudFront and Route 53 at AWS and did a PhD in distributed systems at Trinity College Dublin.
