Dian is an accidental data architect who got a taste for SQL early in what would otherwise have been an ordinary career in web development. She started working with Postgres in 2015, and has used it as a foundational part of the data stack in everything from weather station logistics to clinical trial facilitation and beyond. Besides a few small contributions to Postgres and community tools, she's maintained open source projects like the introspection-powered Postgres data mapper MassiveJS and its successor, monstrous. She is currently tech lead for Datastore at Beacon Biosignals, a computational neuroscience startup.
