Extensions Ecosystem Summit: Enabling comprehensive indexing, discovery, and binary distribution.

This session is currently full.

If a spot opens up, we will email you. Then you may register for the summit under "registration additional options".

Participants will collaborate to examine the ongoing work on PostgreSQL extension distribution, examine its challenges, identify questions, propose solutions, and agree on directions for execution. The agenda will include topics such as:

  • Identity, namespacing, and uniqueness
  • Distributed vs. centralized publishing
  • Binary packaging and distribution patterns
  • Extension developer tools
  • Metadata standards for third-party dependencies, extension types, TLEs, taxonomies, etc.
  • Improving the release process
  • Documentation standards
  • Community integration: identity, infrastructure, and support
  • Services and tools to improve or build

Participants will identify the topics to address, self-select into teams, and work through a topic OST-style. At the end of the session each team will present its findings and recommendations, the broader group will identify conflicts and address them, and the organizers will assemble an implementation plan for the remainder of the year.

If you have any interest in helping define the future of the Postgres extension ecosystem, we'd love to see you there!
